Rangers Finalize their Roster for the 2022-23 Season

Rangers are excited to annouce their roster for the upcoming 2022-23 Season. This years camp was different from previous years as The Rangers are coming off a championship season and all but 4 players moved on to U16 or U18 this year. The Rangers opened camp with a crowded camp roster and narrowed it down over three tough weeks for the players with 12 preseason games and a couple practices, in the end the players made it tough for the staff to finalize the roster whiched they were hoping for. Congrats to all players, now the real work begins...good luck this 2022-23 Season Rangers!

The Rangers win the 40th Annual Monctonian AAA Challenge

The Rangers are 2021 Monctonian AAA Challenge Champions.

Over the last few days the Rangers competed in the the Monctonian AAA Challenge, one of if not the biggest Tournaments for Elite AAA Hockey East of Ontario. The Rangers went throught the Round Robin with a 2-1 record, with their only loss coming to New Brunswicks top team The Dieppe Flyers 2-0. This placed The Rangers in a Wild Card spot going into Saturday- the day of movement.

Saturday started with the Rangers facing off against PEI's top team the Eastern Express, Rangers won 6-3. This gave the Rangers a trip to the crossover game 3 hours later vs The Bedford Barons who finished the top of their division in the Round Robin with a record of 3-0. The Barons currently are tied with the Rangers in first place atop of the NS U15 Major Hockey League. This game was hard hitting, back and forth hockey with the Rangers winning 6-3. This now moved the Rangers to the SemiFinals 4 hours later vs the Dieppe Flyers whom the Rangers lost to the previous day. Rangers battled through to come out with a 4-3 win giving the Dieppe Flyers their first loss of the season. With the win, The Rangers moved on to the Finals on Sunday to play the Novas in an all Nova Scotia Final.

Nova came out hard knowing the Rangers were tired and probably a little beaten up from their 3 Games Saturday. This led to Nova scoring the first goal only a couple minutes into the game. As in the previous two games the Rangers were scored against first but battled back to pull out the win 3-1. This was a hard fought game by both teams. Rangers Captain Connor Foston recieved the Tournament MVP for helping lead the Rangers with his great defensive play and popping some key goals along the way for the Championship including the first goal to get The Rangers on the board today.

A great weekend, some great memories which the boys will have forever.

Kidney Drafted to the Montreal Canadians

This past weekend we saw and heard, Riley Kidney's name being called in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Riley played for the Rangers from 2016-2018 and played a huge role in our Championship Title 2016-2017 as a rookie. During his second season, Riley was our team captain, finshed the regular season with 80 points and help lead our team to a 2nd place finish at League Championships. Riley went on to play for the Cole Harbor Wolfpack U18 Major and represent Nova Scotia at Canada Winter Games in 2019 and is currently with the Acadie-Bathurst Titans of the QMJHL

Riley becomes the 3rd player from our program to get drafted to the NHL, as he joins Evan Fitzpatrick (St.Louis Blues 2016, 2nd round  59th overall) and Ryan Francis (Calgary Flames 2020, 5th round 143 overall) in hearing their names being called.

Amazing weekend for Riley and his family and congrats to all the other Nova Scotian players to hear their names called. #NSPROUD #PROUDOFOURALUMNI #RANGERPRIDE #HNS Riley Draft Image

Children's Wish Game

Each year the Children's Wish Foundation teams up with the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League to help raise funds that will help grant a child's wish. Kyle is living with Cystic Fibrosis, a severe progressive disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system.

This didn't slow Kyle down as he spent time with the Rangers and got involved in all the activities with finding time to enjoying a Cheeseburger and fries while watching the Rangers go onto victory over the Valley Wildcats.

The Ranger families, friends and the help of Virgin Radio Megan Coady who MC the event, held a bake sale, 50/50, Toss A Puck and other activities during the game to help raise funds for this great cause.

The Children's Wish Foundation is the largest and only all-Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting the wishes of children between the ages of 3-17 years old who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Over the last two years, the NSMBHL has been able to raise over $60,000 for this great cause.
