C.B. HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY: Gracie, Hatcher have three-point nights, Memorial Marauders beat Sydney Academy Wildcats on Tuesday

SYDNEY, N.S. – The Memorial Marauders returned to the win column on Tuesday night.

Memorial beat the Sydney Academy Wildcats 6-3 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.

Sam Gracie had a hat trick, while Kody Hatcher had a goal and two assists. Brayden MacDonald and Hudson McGean also added goals for the Marauders.

Keagan Corbett, Charlie Francis and Kenzie Carew replied with goals for the Wildcats.

Memorial’s Jack MacPhee made 19 saves. Sydney Academy’s Dylan Lesnick stopped 28 of 33 shots.

High school hockey action continues on Thursday with Memorial hosting Riverview at 7:40 p.m. at Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.

C.B. HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY: Riverview Ravens beat Memorial Marauders on home ice on Friday

COXHEATH, N.S. – The Riverview Ravens picked up a home victory on Friday night.

Riverview defeated the Memorial Marauders 5-1 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Rory Mills scored twice, while Gahan Rector, Alex MacDonald and Lucas Phillippo chipped in with goals for the Ravens.

Daniel Young had the lone goal for the Marauders.

Riverview’s Kayden Mollons made 17 saves. Memorial’s Jack MacPhee stopped 21 of 26 shots.

C.B. HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY: Garrett MacIntosh’s five-point performance leads Glace Bay Panthers past Memorial Marauders on Thursday

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. – The Glace Bay Panthers had no shortage of offence on Thursday night.

Glace Bay used a four-goal first period on their way to a 7-1 victory over the Memorial Marauders in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.

Garrett MacIntosh powered the attack for the Panthers with a five-point performance, which included a hat trick. Ty Oliver scored twice, while Kyle Nearing and Hudson Clarke also added goals for the Panthers (4-1-0-0).

Kody Hatcher had the lone goal for the Marauders (2-3-0-0).

Glace Bay’s Brandon Cole made 18 saves. Memorial’s Andrew Forrest stopped 18 of 25 shots.

High school hockey league action continues on Friday with the Riverview Ravens hosting the Memorial Marauders at 8 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

SYDNEY, N.S. – Dylan Lesnick was busy between the pipes for the Sydney Academy Wildcats on Tuesday night.

Lesnick turned aside all 34 shots that went his way, backstopping the Wildcats to a 4-0 win over the Riverview Ravens in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.

Charlie Francis had a goal and an assist, while Kenzie Carew, Anthony Melski and Jaxon MacNamara also added goals for the Wildcats (2-3-0-0)

Riverview’s record falls to 2-3-0-0 on the season.

Ravens’ Max Shaheen stopped 14 of 18 shots.

High school hockey league action continues on Thursday with the Memorial Marauders hosting the Glace Bay Panthers at 7:40 p.m. at Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.

Glace Bay Panthers claw Riverview Ravens 4-2 to win Green and Gold tournament

NORTH SYDNEY — Pierce Hutchings scored a hat trick as the Glace Bay Panthers doubled the Riverview Ravens 4-2 to win the Mae Kibyuk Memorial Green and Gold Hockey Tournament at Emera Centre Northside on Sunday.

Hutchings opened the scoring with a power-play markers in the first period then added two more, including the game-winner, in the final frame. Joshua Gottwald scored the other Panthers goal while Jesse Cathcart and Hudson Clarke each had two assists.

Rory Mills and Gahan Rector accounted for the Ravens offence.

Panthers goalie Kristian MacKenzie turned aside 29 of 31shots he faced in the win while Ravens netminder Kayden Mollons stopped 24 of 28 pucks sent his way.

There were six games Saturday. The Ravens beat the Dartmouth Spartans 4-2; the Panthers beat the Dalbrae Dragons 7-1; the Panthers beat J.L. Ilsley Judges 10-3; the Dragons beat the Sydney Academy Wildcats 2-1; the Judges beat the Memorial Marauders 3-1; and the Spartans beat the Ravens 6-4.

On Friday five games were played. The Dragons beat the Marauders 2-1; the Wildcats beat the Spartans 4-3; the Panthers beat the Dragons 7-0; the Spartans beat the Judges 6-2; and the Ravens beat the Marauders 4-2.

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. – Sam Gracie has been one of the top scorers in the Cape Breton High School Hockey League since the start of the season and he showed why on Thursday night.

Gracie had a four-point performance, which included a hat trick, to lead the Memorial Marauders to a 6-2 victory over the Sydney Academy Wildcats on opening night of the Mae Kibyuk Memorial Green and Gold Hockey Tournament at Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.

The forward scored once in each of the three periods while picking up on an assist on the eventual game-winner off the stick of Jesse Ross.

Along with Gracie and Ross, Davis MacInnis and Daniel Young also found the back of the net for the host Marauders.

Nolan Riley and Keagan Corbett replied with goals for the Wildcats.

Memorial’s Andrew Forrest picked up the win in goal. Sydney Academy’s Dylan Lesnick was tagged with the loss. Statistics were not reported.

The Marauders will continue the tournament on Friday at 11 a.m. against the Dalbrae Dragons and 7 p.m. against the Riverview Ravens. They wrap up the round robin against the J.L. IIsley Judges on Saturday at 11 a.m.

In other tournament action, Riverview edged the Glace Bay Panthers 5-4 in overtime.

Rory Mills scored the overtime winner to complete the hat trick. Aidan Stanwick and Gahan Rector also fired home goals for the Ravens.

Kale MacDonald, Morgan Neville, Hudson Clarke and Ty Oliver netted goals for the Panthers.

Riverview’s Kayden Mollons picked up the win. Glace Bay’s Brandon Cole shouldered the loss. Statistics were not reported.
