SYDNEY, NS — Jarrett Hicks scored three times to help the Glace Bay Panthers down the Sydney Academy Wildcats 11-3 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Wednesday.
Dylan MacDonald and David Beaton each scored twice for the Panthers while Matthew MacIntosh, Connor MacIntyre, Xavier Johnson and Ty Clarke added single markers for Glace Bay (12-3-1-0).

Zach Conn, Justin Thistle and Ethan MacInnis replied with goals for the Wildcats (0-16-0-0).

Nick Bigley made 14 saves in the win for Glace Bay. Hunter Chenhall and Donny GooGoo shared time in goal for Sydney Academy. Chenhall was tagged with the loss.

SYDNEY – The Riverview Redmen and Inverness/Baddeck Rebels each picked up high school hockey league wins on Friday night.

In Cape Breton High School Hockey League action, the Redmen downed the Sydney Academy Wildcats 5-3 at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Brady MacLean, Andrew McCarron, Bryden Johnston, Dylan MacDonald and Black Cox each scored goals for Riverview.

Tytan Donovan netted a pair of goals for the Wildcats while Ethan MacInnis added a single marker.

Ryan Turner made 16 saves for the win. Hunter Chenhall turned aside 38 of 43 shots in the loss for Sydney Academy.

SYDNEY, N.S. — A pair of high school hockey league games are scheduled for today in Coxheath and Inverness.

In the Cape Breton High School Hockey League, the first place Riverview Redmen will host the Sydney Academy Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

In Cape Breton West High School Hockey League action, the Inverness/Baddeck Rebels will challenge the SAERC Saints at 7:30 p.m. at the Dr. Bernie MacLean Recreation Centre in Inverness.

NORTH SYDNEY - Jacob Fraser's hat trick powered the offense for the Memorial Marauders as the Sydney Mines-based school blanked the Sydney Academy Wildcats 7-0 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Emera Centre Northside on Thursday.

Ian Jenkins scored twice while Sam Brown and Dovi Walker added single markers for the Marauders (6-9-2-0).

The Wildcats record falls to 0-14-0-0.

Jonathan Dolomont stopped all 23 shots he faced in the win. Donny GooGoo stopped 43 of 50 shots in the loss for the Wildcats.

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — The Memorial Marauders will host the Sydney Academy Wildcats in their Hockey Fights Cancer game at the Emera Centre Northside tonight.

Game time is 7:20 p.m.

The Marauders, along with the school’s student government members, would like to support Sydney Academy and Glace Bay High School teams in their effort for “Hockey Fights Cancer.”

All students, players and fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of the worthy cause.

Money raised from the event will be presented during the Sydney Academy, Glace Bay Hockey Fights Cancer game, scheduled for Jan. 23 in Membertou.
