Cormier scores winner as Glace Bay Panthers edge Memorial Marauders Thursday

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — 

Tyler Cormier's goal at 6:19 of the third period proved to be the game-winner as the Glace Bay Panthers edged the Memorial Marauders 4-3 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Emera Centre Northside on Thursday.

Jarrett Hicks, Connor MacIntyre and Mason Fraser had single markers for the Panthers (7-2-0-0).

Nolan Ryan scored twice, while Travis Gillis chipped in with goal for the Marauders (2-6-1-0).

Glace Bay's Darian McInnis made 23 saves. Memorial's Andrew Marsh stopped 16 of 20 shots.

Cape Breton High School Hockey League action resumes on Friday when the Riverview Ravens host the Sydney Academy Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Hinchey, Ravens blank Wildcats in high school hockey action Wednesday

MEMBERTOU, N.S. — 

Patrick Hinchey made 22 saves to help lead the Riverview Ravens to a 6-0 win over the Sydney Academy Wildcats in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Wednesday.

Liam Robertson scored twice, while Sam MacKinnon, Noah MacKinnon, Charlie Lantz and Owen Burke added single goals for the Ravens (8-1-0-0).

Sydney Academy's Daniel MacGillvary turned aside 29 of 35 shots.

With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 1-8-0-0 on the season.

Glace Bay doubles Sydney Academy in high school hockey Sunday

GLACE BAY, N.S. — 

The Glace Bay Panthers doubled the Sydney Academy Wildcats 8-4 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay on Sunday.

Logan Snow had a five-point performance, which included two goals, while Connor MacIntyre also added a pair of goals. Jarrett Hicks, Liam Peterson, Adam Hicks, and Lochlan Pilling also added goals for the Panthers (6-2-0-0).

 

Dante Basque, Rylan Perry, Nick Burke and Ryan MacNamara answered with goals for the Wildcats (1-7-0-0).

Glace Bay’s Owen Coombes made 21 saves. Sydney Academy’s Daniel MacGillvary stopped 37 of 45 shots.

McCarron notches four points in Riverview win over Memorial on Friday

COXHEATH, N.S. — 

Colby McCarron had a four-point performance, which included a hat trick, to help the Riverview Ravens down the Memorial Marauders 8-4 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre on Friday.

McCarron scored once in the second period before completing the hat trick with a pair of goals in the third period.

Liam Brann netted a pair of goals while Nick Farrell, Curtis Novak and Liam Robertson added single markers for the Ravens (7-1-0-0).

Ryan MacMullin scored three times, while Ian Jenkins also chipped in with a goal for the Marauders (2-5-1-0).

Riverview’s Patrick Hinchey made 17 saves. Memorial’s Andrew Marsh stopped 29 of 37 shots.

Cape Breton High School Hockey League action resumes on Sunday when the Glace Bay Panthers host the Sydney Academy Wildcats at 7 p.m. at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay.

Riverview edges Memorial in overtime in high school hockey Thursday

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — 

Liam Robertson netted the overtime winner to lift the Riverview Ravens to a 3-2 victory over the Memorial Marauders in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Emera Centre Northside on Thursday.

The forward potted the winner with 57 seconds left extra frame with Owen Burke given credit for the assist on the goal.

Curtis Novak and Colby McCarron notched goals in regulation time for the Ravens.

Ian Jenkins and Ryan MacMullin replied with goals for the Marauders.

Riverview's Devon Gallant made 23 saves. Memorial's Aidan Penny stopped 42 of 44 shots before he was replaced in the third period by Andrew Marsh, who turned aside nine of 10 shots.

Riverview and Memorial will be in action on Friday when the Ravens host the Marauders at 7:30 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Hinchey makes 43 saves as Riverview Ravens beat Glace Bay Panthers Friday

COXHEATH, N.S. — 

On the back of a 43-save performance by Patrick Hinchey, the Riverview Ravens downed the Glace Bay Panthers 5-2 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Liam Brann scored twice, while JC MacDonald, Sam MacKinnon and Nick Farrell added single markers for the Ravens (4-1-0-0).

Tye Clarke and Ethan Murrant replied with goals for the Panthers (4-1-0-0.)

Glace Bay’s Darian MacInnis made 31 saves.

Riverview and Glace Bay will be back on the ice on Sunday when the teams meet at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay. Game time is 7 p.m.
