C.B. HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY: Glace Bay Panthers get by Memorial Marauders Sunday evening

GLACE BAY, N.S. – The Glace Bay Panthers picked up a victory in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action on Sunday.

Glace Bay downed the Memorial Marauders 6-4 at Miners Forum in Glace Bay.

Pierce Hutchings scored twice, while Kale MacDonald, Dylin White, Garrett MacIntosh and Ty Oliver added goals for the Panthers.

Sam Gracie buried two goals, while Hudson McGean and Davis MacInnis chipped in with goals for the Marauders.

Glace Bay’s Kristian MacKenzie made 22 saves. Memorial’s Jack MacPhee stopped 27 of 33 shots.

COXHEATH, N.S. – The Sydney Academy Wildcats claimed their first victory of the young Cape Breton High School Hockey League season on Friday.

Sydney Academy downed the Riverview Ravens 4-1 at Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Charlie Francis and Dominic Pino each had a goal and an assist, while Jude Christmas and Keagan Corbett added goals for the Wildcats.

Matthew Burke had the lone goal for the Ravens.

Sydney Academy’s Brody Campbell made 12 saves. Riverview’s Max Shaheen stopped 10 of 13 shots.

High school hockey league action will continue on Sunday with the Glace Bay Panthers hosting the Memorial Marauders at 7 p.m. at Miners Forum in Glace Bay.

It will be the final regular season game before the annual Mae Kibyuk Memorial Green and Gold Hockey Tournament, hosted by Memorial, next week in North Sydney.

SYDNEY, N.S. – The Glace Bay Panthers picked up their second straight victory on Tuesday, defeating the Sydney Academy Wildcats 5-1 in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Tuesday.

Ty Oliver and Garrett MacIntosh each had a goal and two assists, while Cohen McNeil fired home a pair of goals. Kale MacDonald added single marker for the Panthers (2-1-0-0).

Keagan Corbett had the lone goal for the Wildcats (0-3-0-0).

Glace Bay’s Kristian MacKenzie made 14 saves. Sydney Academy’s Dylan Lesnick stopped 33 of 38 shots.

C.B. HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY: Mills scores winner, Riverview Ravens edge Glace Bay Panthers on the road

Riverview Ravens logo. - Jeremy FraserGLACE BAY, N.S. – Less than a week after the Glace Bay Panthers spoiled the Riverview Ravens home opener, the Coxheath school returned the favour on Sunday.

Rory Mills’ late second period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Ravens edged the Panthers 3-2 at the Miners Forum in Glace Bay.

Gahan Rector and Lucas Phillipo also added goals for the Ravens (1-1-0-0).

C.J. MacNeil-Peach and Ty Oliver netted goals for the Panthers (1-1-0-0).

Riverview’s Kayden Mollons made 28 saves. Glace Bay’s Brandon Cole stopped 14 of 17 shots.

NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. – The Memorial Marauders are off to a 2-0 start to kick off the Cape Breton High School Hockey League.

Memorial edged the Sydney Academy Wildcats 3-2 in their home opener on Thursday night at the Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney.

COXHEATH, N.S. – In a back-and-forth opening game, the Glace Bay Panthers were able to outscore the Riverview Ravens in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action on Wednesday.

The Panthers, who scored six goals in the second period, defeated the Ravens 8-6 in front of a jam-packed Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.

Kale MacDonald and Dylin White each scored twice, while Ryan Aucoin, C.J. Peach-McNeil, Garrett MacIntosh and Hudson Clarke added single markers for the Panthers (1-0-0-0).

Gahan Rector, Rory Mills, Matthew Burke, Lucas Phillipo, Owen Buckley and Marcus Kelly replied with goals for the Ravens (0-1-0-0).
